We are open at all Covid Alert Levels. To stay with us during the varying Covid Alert Levels that New Zealand operate under, we presume you have a reason to travel and are within the travel restrictions for that level.

At the Commodore we pride ourselves on our high cleaning standard that we have kept over the last 20 years. Keeping you our guest and our staff safe is top priority in this Covid environment. You can rest assured we are taking extra cleaning measures to ensure everyone’s safety.

Covid Alert Levels

Level 1

  • Business at Normal

Level 2 

  • Rooms are cleaned to the same high level, but extra Cleaning of frequently touched surfaces and areas is done more often i.e. – TV remotes, door handles, light switches. Hospital grade surface and air sanitizer is used for cleaning.
  • If you are staying multiple nights, it is completely up to you if you get your room serviced. We are servicing rooms, but only entering on the agreeance of guests and preferably when they are not in the room.
  • Reception is open and feel free to come in, we have 2 metre social distancing in place and hand sanitizer at the door.  Reception operations will be more contactless communications and check in and check out arrangements. Opening hours may be slightly shorter than normal, depending on how busy we are. Email and texting with pre arrival information will occur.
  • If you have visitors to your room, we are required to have their name and contact details for contact tracing.
  • On check out please just leave the key on the table in the room, do not bring it to the office.

Level 3

  • Rooms will be used with a spacing of 2 day (48 hours) in between guests for Covid safety.
  • Rooms will be cleaned and sanitizer with hospital grade disinfectant sanitizer.
  • There will be no servicing, but any replacement items required, should be left outside the door and we will replace.
  • Only contactless check in will be available by prior arrangement. Reception will be closed.

Level 4

  • Essential accommodation only by arrangement-There will be no servicing, but any replacement items required, should be left outside the door and we will replace.
  • Only contactless check in will be available by prior arrangement. Reception will be closed.
