Check in is any time after 2.00pm and Check out is 10.00am. If this doesn’t suit your needs just let us know and we will try to accommodate you.
We offer 1 park per unit, if you require additional parking, please let us know before you arrive so we can try and accommodate. Car parking is limited to cars, vans and motorcycles unless pre-arranged.
We have a number of parks at the Commodore that can accommodate a car/ Ute and trailer, please just ring us on 03 477 7766 before you stay or at time of booking to arrange this directly with us. We do need advance warning of this parking request so we can arrange it.
At the Commodore, we have 2 guest laundries located onsite, one for each block.
It is very simple to check in after office hours at the Commodore Motel. We will make contact with you earlier in the day and make arrangements to leave a key out and give you directions to your room. We are contactable 24 hours a day by phone on 0800 800 233 if you have any worries on arrival.
We are happy to talk directly with guests to arrange and accommodate late check outs if we can.
Commodore Motel Reception is open
Monday to Friday from 8am – 7.00pm,
Saturday 8.30am to 7pm and
Sunday 8.30pm -5.00pm.
At the Commodore, we offer a Continental Breakfast for $15, this includes your choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast, spreads and beverages. If you are looking for a cooked breakfast, we can direct you to some excellent local cafés. Please complete the breakfast form in your room and give this to reception prior to 6.30pm the evening before you would like breakfast.
Payment is requested at check in. Credit card details are also held for any unreported breakages, damage or additional cleaning – all of which will be charged against your card. In the event of no credit card, a $500 bond will be taken and refunded after the apartment has been checked.
No animals are permitted at the Commodore Motel.
At the Commodore Motel in Dunedin, we have 4 SKY Sports Channels, Movies, SKY News and 2 Sports Channels.
All 3- and 2-Bedroom units have heat pumps. 1 bedroom, suites and studios have convection heaters. There is heating provided for each bedroom as well.
At the Commodore Motel all units have kitchenettes with microwave, tea and coffee and breakfast making facilities. We have quite a number of units with cooktops, ovens, fridge/ freezers and dishwashers. If you require full kitchen facilities, please just let us know when you are booking.
Dunedin Hospital is 1.7km from Commodore Motel, if you aren’t taking your car down to the hospital, we are happy to help and arrange transport to and from the hospital, please just talk to us directly.
The Commodore Motel is located in the heart of the university area, it is a 5-minute walk.
The Stadium is 1.8km from the Motel, a easy 15 minute walk. For most events, it is simpler to walk from the Motel as parking is hard to find near the stadium.
The Commodore Motel is owned and operated by a local Dunedin family and we have some great 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom motel units and apartments suitable for families.
The Commodore Motel is ideal for sports teams, with lots of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units and apartments that can sleep 4-8 guests and most come equipped with full cooking facilities.
The Dunedin Airport is a 30 minute drive from the city. At the airport there are shuttles, taxis and rental cars available to meet travellers’ requirements. If you need any help with your transport, please just let us know. We do not offer an airport shuttle service.
We are located beside the Dunedin Botanic Gardens. The University of Otago and Otago Museum are 950m away, Forsyth Barr Stadium is 1.7km, Dunedin Railway Station and Toitu Otago Settlers Museum are 2.2km. The New World supermarket is a short 3–4-minute walk from the Commodore Motel.
All the bed linen and bathroom towels are provided.
We recommend guests obtain travel insurance to cover unforeseen changes and holiday plans.
Yes, smoking and vaping is allowed but it must be always outside. There is no smoking inside.
We have a wide range of rooms that our business and contractor travellers enjoy. We offer large workspaces, off-street parking, easy access in and out and some rooms offer cooking facilities.
Children and infants are welcome. They must be included when making the booking and are charged the same extra person rate as an adult.
Cots and Highchairs are available and there may be a charge for these.
All visitors must report to reception. Any visitors onsite must depart by 10pm. Parties and large groups are not permitted.
